A Very pleasant christmas

Hello, friends and neighbors!

We are so excited about A Very Pleasant Christmas, and it’s right around the corner! Just a little over two weeks away. We are hard at work making sure the whole experience is magical for our town and the families that live, work, and play here.

Our small businesses have been encouraged to stay open, and we are hoping they will benefit greatly from the foot traffic of this event. You can expect to see smiling faces, sidewalk sales, and holiday cheer. In addition to that, we will have local vendors setting up their tables and showing off their wares.

There will be food trucks, too! From hot dogs to sweet treats, we’ll have several options to fill up on. The city is very kindly putting out extra tables for us, so we’ll have lots of places for families to sit down and enjoy all the yummy edible offerings at our festival.

SANTA has even offered to make an appearance… how gracious of him! He will be setting up at City Hall for kiddos and families to see. He’ll listen in as your child whispers about their hopes and dreams for Christmas morning, and he’ll let you snap a pic. But beware, because we’ve heard that the Grinch might also be lurking around!

The Mount Pleasant Public Library will be hosting a craft table for little ones! At their table, the kids can color, decorate paper trees, or write a letter to Santa for a more detailed list of hoped-for gifts. They can deposit these letters to Santa over at Golden Boy Goods, where there will be a shiny red mailbox with service directly to the North Pole.

On top of that, we will have musical performances by local school children. What brings on Christmas cheer more than kids dancing and singing to beloved holiday music? Nostalgia: activated!

You absolutely cannot miss this event, especially because, of course, we will be officially kicking off the Christmas season with the lighting of our huge Christmas tree in residence in front of City Hall! All this and more and you really have the makings of a fabulous Hallmark movie, but it’s our real life. And we’re so glad to be living it with YOU!
