Towne Coffee Serendipity

Serendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

That is exactly what happened when childhood friends, David Wood and Betsy Ferg visited Mount Pleasant, a quaint little secret of a town, located in Nashville’s Big Back Yard. While visiting for New’s Years weekend they fell in love with the town. The charm of the early 1900’s architecture and all of the friendly people that they met, reminded them of the town where they grew up - Summit, NJ.

The only thing that was missing was a coffee shop! An avid coffee drinker, Wood searched for the nearest actual coffee shop and was surprised to find it was a 20-minute drive. It was clear to this couple, a chef and designer, that Mount Pleasant was in need of their talents, so they decided to open Towne Coffee- aptly named after Towne Deli, where David got his start in the food business.

You can find the coffee shop, just down from the square on Main Street.

Open 7 days a week, Towne Coffee serves breakfast and lunch all day, in addition to a full coffee menu featuring organic coffee from Black River Roasters.
